The life of our Savior (outline for our study)

As we start our study/work through the life of our Savior with my reflections this is a timeline chart breaking down Jesus life. This chart makes it easier to see where things happened in His life.

**please note I’m updating this outline as I go through study again**

The years of preparation (first 30 years)

Part 1: The Promise

The Great Galilean Ministry (18 to 21 months)

Part 7: The greatest sermon of all time!

  2. Be careful to do just too been seen, Where your treasure is, your heart will be (Matt 6)
  3. Conclusion of sermon. Good fruit, bad fruit  (Matt 7; Lk 6: 36-49)

Part 8: Jesus’ Busy day.

The Period of Retirement (about 6 months, 1 year before His death) Jesus tried to withdraw 4 times to seek rest and special teaching for His apostles (withdraw means retirement)

Part 9: “But who do you say that I am?”

  1. First Retirement (Matt. 14:13-15:20, Mark. 6:30-7:23, John. 6:1-7:1)
  2. Second Retirement (Matt. 15:21-28, Mark. 7:24-30)
  3. Third Retirement (Matt. 15:29-16:4, Mark. 7:31-8:12)
  4. Forth Retirement (Matt. 16:5-16:28. Mark. 8:13-9:1, Luke. 9:18-9:27)
  5. Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-8, Mark. 9:2-8, 9:28-36)

The close of Jesus’ Ministry (6 months, it is fall; He will die in spring)

Part 10: Jesus arrives in Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles (in the fall)

  1. Great excitement concerning the Messiah (John 7:1-8:1)
  2. An adulteress is brought to Jesus (John 8:2-11)
  3. Jesus claims to be the light of the world (John 8:12-20)
  4. Jesus heals a man born blind (John 9:1-41)
  5. Jesus is the good shepherd (10:1-21)

Part 11: The Feast of Dedication (in the winter)

  1. Feast of Dedication (John 10: 22-39)
  2. Three great parables, lost sheep, coin, boy (Luke 15:1-32)
  3. Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44)
  4. The effect on Jesus raising Lazarus (John. 11:45-54)

Part 12: Jesus starts His last journey to Jerusalem

    1. Ten leapers are healed (Luke 17:11-19)
    2. Jesus explains the Kingdom & Judgment (Luke 17:20-37)

So now that you are completely overwhelmed, maybe write down on a piece of paper this simpler order, breaking down Jesus life like this makes it easier to see where He was at in God’s plan for His life.
